I could use the assistance of someone in Central Oregon.
Jean Brigl was the Federation's financial advisor for a number of years
in the 1980s and 1990s. She was instrumental in handling the
Federation's uncomfortable episode with the IRS, and created the
non-profit/tax-exempt policies that we continue to use today.
Jean's daughter has a box ful of historical items (including 20 years of
Square Dancing magazine, 20 years of OFNs, 20 years of Federation
directories, and 40 years of Emerald Empire paperwork) that she would
like to get rid of. Before tossing them, she asked me if we wanted
them, and I said SURE! All we have to is pick them up.
She lives in La Pine. If there is someone within a reasonable driving
distance of La Pine who is willing to go down and pick up the box (it's
a 16" x 12" file box; not too big) and bring it to Summer Festival, that
would be great. Please let me know.
