Subject: Carol Reetz Update 12/28/07


It is Friday afternoon, 4:30 p.m. and what a day it has been.  It has been one of those days when we realize, as we do so often, just how magnificent God really is.

The day started out pretty normal or at least normal for the past several days.  I met with Pastor Vicki and Pastor Sherry from our church (First Church of the Nazarene, Eugene) to anoint Carol for a healing touch from our Lord.  Carol responded to our voices when we entered the room.  When asked if it was okay to proceed with the anointting she nodded her head to the affirmative.

After the prayer she actually acknowledged some of our conversation with her and was somewhat cheerful.

About a half hour or 45 minutes later the nurse came in to draw blood to test for the oxygen level in her blood.  Within a few minutes they were back with the results indicating that they had instructions to remove the breathing tube and feeding tube.  PRAISE GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER!!!

NO TRAECH!!!! (sp)

Carol is responding to communication, although her throat is quite sore after 7+ days of those tubes down her throat.  She is having some problem formulating her thoughts and expressing them by voice.

A speech therapist has been in to see and examine her.  They are starting her on a soft foods diet to be spoon fed by the nurse.  She will have many more meetings with her.

Tomorrow she is supposed to have visits from physical therapy and occupational therapy.

THIS ISN'T OVER FOLKS.  But, God is doing some powerful work here.  We do know that these are things we need to be praying for.

Question in my mind yet and I haven't gotten an answer is whether or not they are going to do another MRI to check her brain for the infection.

Keep the prayers flowing.  They do work.  We have a ways to go and we want to give God and His son Jesus the credit.
