Dear Marilyn,
I have received two emails in the last couple of months that I have cut and
pasted at the end of this email. Due to the content of such that I have put in
bold, italics, and underlined, I have the following thoughts and ask for
the following motion.
After the January state meeting and the subsequent emails and letters that
have followed, I feel it necessary to ask that the following motion be added to
the May agenda. This motion should come just after the voting of the
acceptance or refusal of Jim Roger's resignation.

I move that Marilyn Schmit move up to assume the remainder, less than half,
of the current term of presidency as the federation president, and then start
her own term of presidency as of the Sept 2007 meeting.

Discussion: As this was the way it was presented to the delegates at the
January meeting and then voted and passed that this is what we, as the delegates
agreed should take place for the succession of vice-presidents to move up and
fill vacant positions above them, I feel that this is appropriate according
to that vote and the reference in our constitution to follow the Robert's
Rules of Order.

Respectfully Submitted,
Ilana Widders, EEAC State Delegate

As the presiding chairman (per the Federation by-laws) of the Oregon
Federation,
it is with pleasure that I announce the appointment of Larry Reetz (Carol)
to fill the remaining term of the vacant position of President of the Oregon
Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs.

Larry was Federation president in 2000-2001 and has held offices from area
delegate to parliamentarian and the offices that lead to the presidency. He
worked on the Portland convention in 2005 and is a trusted member of the
Emerald Empire Area Council. Larry and Carol are Christians and thought long and
hard about their decision to take on the partial term of President. They
prayed and consulted friends they trusted. I am grateful for their service and
will support them in any way that I can. I am hoping that you will also.
His appointment will be voted on at the May Federation meeting in Central
Oregon to be held in Bend. The vote will take place as soon as the meeting is
called to order and once approved, Larry will handle the rest of the May and
July meetings and the meeting in September through old business. At this
time, Larry is undecided if he will take on the past president position, but
there is still time for him to ponder that decision.
If there are questions, please ask and I, or Tim Roberts, Federation
Parliamentarian, will be glad to answer them to the best of our abilities.
Thank you,
Marilyn (Ron) Schmit
1st Vice President

There has been a certain amount of confusion over the date of the May
state meeting in Bend. The Central Oregon Council should be sending out
further information, but as of this time, here is what I know.

The meeting will be the weekend of May 19 and 20. The meetings on
Saturday May 19 will be at the Pine Forest Grange, just at the north
end of Bend. The state meeting on Sunday May 20 will be at the Eastern
Star Grange, to the east of town. Following the meeting, there will
be a benefit dance for the Federation's youth scholarship fund at the
Pine Forest Grange.

Proposed agenda items should be sent to Marilyn Schmit at
marilynron at msn.com.
