Wednesday, 3 weeks from Carol's arrival at Sacred Heart.

First, praises to the Lord because Carol had two very good afternoons.  I didn't get up here on Monday, but family friends did and they gave glowing reports of their visits with Carol.  I even heard reports from the nurses that she handled herself very well with the physical therapist.  She did all of those good things and still countered a high fever Monday night into Tuesday morning.

This afternoon, she told me she was frustrated because she couldn't do the tasks that the doctor asked of her or the therapist.  I tried to assure her that she would have some days like this.  But, she needs to keep her faith with God that no matter what happens, He is always there to provide the strength she needs to handle it.  She understands, but was still down.  Her vital signs looked good last night and they look very good today.  She is making baby step progress despite the little set backs.  They keep telling me that it could be a year or more for her to come around.  We will just leave that up to God.  Remember, we are praying for a complete healing!!!

As for me, I did have a meeting with my supervisor (Barbara) at Royal Caribbean Monday afternoon.  I will be returning to work tomorrow.  I know that the Lord will give me the strength and provide me with the ability to handle the requirements of the new position I moved to just before Carol got sick.  I do look forward to working with my team.

To those of you in the Eugene/Springfield area that have asked about sitting with Carol for a short time, I can assure you that she would love to have you at her side.  She does enjoy visitors, normally after 1 p.m. (afternoon into early evening).

Her voice is getting stronger, yet sometimes as a whisper.  She still has some problems putting into words her thoughts.  But, we do know that slow and easy is a good thing.

Thank you all again.  It is great to have such a wonderful family holding Carol up in prayer and good thoughts.
