Subject: Carol Reetz Update 011208


I know, it has been three days since my last update.  However, I am sure you will want to hear just what the Lord has accomplished in these three days.  Carol has had close to a normal temperature for three days now and the antibiotics are no longer being administered.  She is no longer on the anti-viral med, and the feeding tube was removed this morning.  She has eaten four complete meals, without assistance.

She is complaining however of being uncomfortable in the bed!

She is making baby steps of progress with therapy (occupational, physical and speech).

Tomorrow, Sunday (Jan. 13, 2008):

They anticipate removing the sodium chloride solution that provides Carol with liquid.  She should be able to take a sufficient amount by mouth now that she can swallow.

The doctor anticipates writing her discharge papers for Carol's release to a nursing home/rehab facility (Valley West of Eugene) for Monday, Jan. 14, 2008).

Carol still needs lots of prayer as she endures lots of therapy.  We are still trusting God to heal her completely, especially from any brain damage.  There is no true indication of how long she will need therapy or how long she will be in the nursing facility.  That is why we still need to be trusting God to hear and answer our request.

He has given us every reason to believe and trust in Him for all that He has done to this time.  Remember, the doctors thought Carol would be in ICU for most of January.

Side Note:  My oldest daughter (Wendy) and her son, McCay left this morning with a large group from our church for a mission trip in Argentina.  They will be gone two weeks in a small city called Pilar.  Please remember these.
